Some Signs and Symptoms
Pain when being touched or lifted- Reluctance or difficulty when climbing stairs, getting on and off the sofa/ boot of a car
- Difficulty when getting up after lying down
- Negative changes in behaviour
- Altered sitting (puppy sit when not a puppy)
- Changes in eating or eliminating
- Constantly licking or chewing paws
- Lameness or changes in gait, changes in performance
- Lying on one side
Pain and stiffness when moving or being touched- Reduced performance
- Negative changes in behaviour or attitude
- Abnormal gait, shortened stride or lameness
- Inability or difficulty in taking a lead
- Bucking, rearing
- Difficulty or inability to collect
- Pinning ears back or snapping when being girthed up or rugged up
- Difficulty flexing at the poll
- Changes in posture, resistance to being ridden – out of character stopping, hitting polls
Egg bound- Restricted wings
- Incomplete sheading
